A good size bowl for all sorts of meals, be it a wholesome fruity porridge in the morning or soup and warm crusty bread at lunch. The bowls are thrown using a wooden curved tool to give them an even, tactile feeling curve. The form has the same smooth feel as picking up a pebble when strolling along a beach.
Dor and Tan began with a desire to break away from the disposability of modern life, to create objects with a more personal connection. Founders Sharron, Peter, Matthew and Viola aim to bring handcrafted items to people, that have a unique soft character which cannot be created any other way than by the hand of a maker.
Based in Cornwall, the process of making is slow and thoughtful. Each object is thrown by hand from clay sourced locally and fired using green energy. These traditional processes make every piece unique, no two objects will be identical.
