Terracotta plant pot and saucer, both with a frilly rim, handmade by ceramicist Paige Mitchell. Each piece is hand thrown on the wheel with a drainage hole punched into the base of the pot once the piece is leather hard. Stamped and fired in a single 1080 degree firing.
The saucer is brushed with a water repellent coating after emerging from the kiln - never leave the saucer standing in water.
Due to the unglazed nature of these pots, they will develop a natural patina and aged look with time. Salt crystals may gather more if using tap water. These can be simply wiped away if they're undesired.
Working out of her studio, Paige creates work which serves to function in her other daily activities. Inspired by traditional pottery and various periods throughout history, she develops plentiful vases, mugs, and planters for use both in the home and in the garden. Her ideas are developed through gardening, sketchbook drawing, and both wheel thrown and hand-built ceramics.
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
