Horezu pottery is a unique ancestral craft that celebrates the tradition and heritage of Romanian folk pottery. Each piece has been made for us by our wonderful maker Maria who grew up in the Horezu region in a family that has nurtured the tradition of pottery. She continues to develop her own style in keeping with traditional craftsmanship.
Each piece is lovingly made using skills passed down for generations. The colours used are natural, made from local minerals and clays, and then applied to the ceramics using particular tools.
All our Romanian pottery is entirely handmade and hand painted, giving each piece a rustic look and finish. No two pieces are the same - variations in colour, size and pattern, as well as small imperfections, may occur. We feel this adds to their charm and uniqueness.
